Linda Shelley brings more than four decades of experience in environmental and land use permitting before state, regional and local entities. At SMPR, she lends her expertise and counsel to guide our work on public policy issues that impact Floridians at the local, regional, and state level.
She was the general counsel to former Governor Bob Graham and served as the secretary for the Florida Department of Community Affairs, now the Department of Economic Opportunity. She was the chief of staff for Governor Lawton Chiles and for insurance commissioner Bill Nelson. She also served as the assistant executive director of the residential Joint Underwriting Association prior to its merger into Citizens Property Insurance Company. Linda recently retired as a managing shareholder for Fowler White Boggs, where she led the firm’s government, environment, and real estate practice group.
